On the 4th of July tacoswap.io website was upgraded and the Tacoswap DEX was activated.
Users who held TACO tokens or had any liquidity staked in the old version of the website are required to migrate. During the migration, their TACO tokens will be automatically swapped to eTACO tokens in 1:1 proportion.
After migrating your liquidity it is possible to use DEX functionalities like swapping the assets listed on Tacoswap, as well as staking in liquidity pools and earning eTACO rewards for doing so.
Unfortunately, at the moment of the DEX launch, it was not possible to migrate the UniSwap TACO-ETH pool into the Tacoswap eTACO-ETH pools as it was unofficial 3rd party initiated pool. This means that the liquidity did not transfer instantaneously, which caused price disruptions in both of these pools.
The key thing to keep in mind about the DEX is that the price of any asset is calculated based on the available liquidity in the pool. It is not possible to artificially “fix” the price at a certain point, the price is set as a result of the demand and available liquidity. Right now we can see that the price of TACO is different from eTACO because the liquidity in the eTACO-ETH pool is very small (2.5 ETH) and on top of that, some holders sold eTACO after the migration.

On the other hand, low liquidity means that it is easier to “recover” the price, once demand for eTACO tokens has returned. Please note that if people simply add liquidity to the eTACO-ETH pool, it would not increase the price of the token but buying eTACO tokens will.
It is relevant to mention that the tech provider is not responsible for the price of the token, it depends on community liquidity provision and transaction volume. At its core, the price depends on network effects enabled by the TacoSwap community.
WACEO invites the TacoSwap community to participate in the pools because simply put — the price of eTACO tokens depends on the commercial usage of its associated pools and the more people buy, the price of the token will increase.
